Obsessions & Disorders

Calm relaxed looking woman, see's herself in the mirror as being very stressed, confused and upset.

Most people connect and understand Obsessions and Disorders to only be related to OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). The pattern of OCD consist of firstly an established recurring obsessional thought or feeling, followed by the need to perform a compulsive ritual action or behaviour.

In recent years it has been discovered there is a sub-division of OCD called Pure-O, which is purely Obsessional Thoughts without the result in compulsive ritual actions or behaviours normally found in OCD. Within Pure-O there is sometimes an obsessional need to say certain words. Pure-O obsessional thoughts are not satisfied with a compulsive behaviour, Pure-O thoughts or words can be more intense and painful than full OCD.

Personality Disorders are now broadly grouped into Cluster A, Cluster B and Cluster C. We have listed them individually but the most common are: BPD or EUPD (Borderline Personality Disorder, also known as Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder), NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder), PPD (Paranoid Personality Disorder).
